PLANO, Texas – Axenic™ Health Solutions, Inc. today announced test data, from an independent laboratory accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP), showing that the patented multi-SiQuat based Q Shield™ Hand Sanitizer destroyed the SARS-CoV-2 (the virus which causes COVID-19). It is our intention to submit the test results to the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for consideration to be added to the FDA’s approved list of products for use against the SARS-CoV-2.

“Since Axenic’s inception, we knew, based on previous lab testing, the potential of our multi-SiQuat based disinfectant against a wide variety of viruses and pathogens. The strong laboratory performance of the Q-Shield™ Hand Sanitizer against the SARS-CoV-2 virus, however, has really impressed us” said Todd Evans, Axenic™ President and CEO.

Testing showed that after 10 seconds of exposure to Q Shield Hand Sanitizer, there was a significant reduction in the presence of detectable SARS-CoV-2 RNA. After 60 seconds, the level of virus on a surrogate pig skin model treated with Q Shield™ was reduced to the undetectable limit.

“Overall, it is important to recognize that these laboratory test results, while subject to limitations, indicate that Q Shield™ Hand Sanitizer completely destroyed the viral particle, including the viral genome, which permanently inactivates the ability of the virus to infect and replicate” asserted Warren Skea, Ph.D. Axenic™ Chief Science Officer and Head of Medical Affairs.

LIMITATIONS & DISCLOSURE:

This test was conducted at a College of American Pathologists (CAP) accredited Laboratory using clinically positive COVID-19 patient samples – not surrogate viruses within the Coronavirus family. Laboratory testing of Q Shield™ on SARS-CoV-2 using a skin surrogate model took place in a controlled laboratory setting and data beyond 60 seconds following application were not captured. This data has not been reviewed or evaluated by the U.S. FDA or EPA. Q Shield remains in development for use against the SARS-CoV-2 virus, and we are evaluating the regulatory path to market under FDA and EPA’s authorities for such use. FDA has not approved Q Shield as safe and effective against the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Q Shield is currently marketed over the counter for only the following use:
